Agrothessaly 2025 Bigger Than Ever – Opening This Thursday with Over 800 Exhibitors and Exhibits from 34 Countries

Opening ceremony on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 7 p.m.

With the participation of more than 800 exhibitors and exhibits from 34 countries, along with scheduled meetings with over 500 international trade visitors, Agrothessaly 2025 is set to open its doors this Thursday, March 6, 2025.

The exhibition, which will run until March 9, has fully utilized the available space at the Neapolis Covered Market, spanning over 25,000 sq.m., while several parallel events will take place at the Amphitheater of the Larissa Municipal Art Gallery.

During today’s press conference, Thanasis Mamacos, Mayor of Larissa, and Dr. Kyriakos Pozrikidis, CEO of TIF-HELEXPO, highlighted the enormous interest from domestic companies and international visitors. They emphasized that this year’s Agrothessaly is the largest ever held. Representatives of the organizers, the Municipality of Larissa and TIF-HELEXPO, also stressed the growing significance of Agrothessaly, positioning Larissa as a strong contender on the international exhibition events map.

Present at the press conference were Mayor Thanasis Mamacos, Deputy Mayor for Green Spaces and Agrothessaly Coordinator Konstantinos Kalogiros, CEO of TIF-HELEXPO Dr. Kyriakos Pozrikidis, President of the Association of Importers and Representatives of Machinery Savvas Balouktzis, General Director of TIF-HELEXPO Alexis Tsaxirlis, and Agrothessaly Organizer Vasilis Spyrou.

A Reference Point for Agriculture

“For four days, the heart of production, agriculture, technology, and modern farming-livestock systems will beat in the capital of the Thessalian Plain. The fact that this year’s event has exceeded all expectations in terms of business and institutional participation highlights the agricultural sector’s need for a stable reference point, a platform dedicated to the driving force of our region: production.

After the devastating impact of storm Daniel and the severe blows it inflicted on the agricultural community, Agrothessaly has become even more crucial. It now serves as a platform for strengthening commercial transactions, partnerships, and collaborations, as well as providing vital information on developments at both national and European Union levels,” noted Mayor Mamacos.

Larissa on the International Exhibition Map

“This year’s Agrothessaly is the largest ever, with over 800 exhibitors and exhibits from 34 countries (both direct and indirect), and every available exhibition space has been fully occupied.

There is immense interest from international trade visitors, who exceed 500 in number and are coming from the Balkan countries, particularly Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Albania. We are proud to have the support of SEAM and EKAGEM in making this Agrothessaly a success.

The scale of this year’s event proves that Larissa is truly the capital of agricultural production. The demand is so high that all accommodation and hospitality options in the city have been booked. Furthermore, Agrothessaly is now recognized as a certified exhibition by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry and is set to be represented at the Pan-European Exhibition Conference in Thessaloniki,” stated Dr. Pozrikidis.

Expectations and Needs

“Our Association has consistently supported Agrothessaly, with our members’ participation exceeding the available exhibition space. It is no coincidence that this year’s event sold out as early as last October.

SEAM strongly supports Agrothessaly because it is held at the heart of agricultural production and at a strategic time for exhibitors and visitors. However, despite the organizers’ efforts, the current facilities do not fully meet the needs of a modern exhibition,” said Savvas Balouktzis.

Responding to SEAM’s concerns, Mayor Mamacos emphasized that, in collaboration with the Region of Thessaly, efforts are already underway to develop existing infrastructure so that Larissa can acquire the necessary facilities to become both an exhibition and conference destination.

“We have announced the start of the process for the creation of a Conference Center at the ETHIAGE (National Agricultural Research Foundation) site, and a business plan is already being drafted. This is just the first step toward a state-of-the-art exhibition-conference center, which is a shared demand among all local stakeholders,” added Mayor Mamacos.

A Model for Regional Exhibitions

“Agrothessaly is perhaps the only regional exhibition with international characteristics, serving as a model for organizing regional exhibition events. If we truly wish to develop a regional exhibition policy, the Larissa model must be taken into account by the government, municipalities, and institutions,” emphasized Alexis Tsaxirlis.

“Agrothessaly is now one of the leading industry events, and we receive numerous requests from exhibitors and visitors in the broader region. This year’s edition includes exhibitors from all sectors of agriculture and livestock farming. Our goal is to reach even greater heights,” noted Vasilis Spyrou.

Agrothessaly 2025

The National Exhibition for Agriculture and Livestock, Agrothessaly, held in Larissa, the agricultural capital, at the Neapolis Covered Market from March 6-9, 2025, is a key reference point for the farming and livestock sector.

This year’s Agrothessaly is the largest ever, with over 800 exhibitors and exhibits from 34 countries, and every available exhibition space has been fully occupied. Interest from international trade visitors is stronger than ever, with over 500 attendees from the Balkans, particularly Bulgaria, North Macedonia, and Albania.

Industry-leading companies in machinery, supplies, and equipment for agriculture and livestock farming will showcase the latest technological advancements and provide insights into global market trends. The exhibition will feature agricultural machinery, tractors, soil cultivation tools, supplies, propagation materials, nurseries, horticultural equipment, forestry tools, livestock-poultry farming equipment, animal feed, services, organizations, and specialized press.

Beyond the exhibition itself, Agrothessaly 2025 will host numerous parallel events with timely and relevant content. These include events organized by the Region of Thessaly, the University of Thessaly, the Center for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving, the European Parliament Office in Greece, the European Commission Representation in Greece, the European Communities Committee, the Information and Communication Technology Institute of CERTH, the Geotechnical Chamber of Greece (GEOTEE), ELGO Dimitra, and the Cooperative Bank of Thessaly, among others.

The Municipal Art Gallery of Larissa will also be utilized for hosting parallel events during the exhibition.
